Volunteer and Have Fun at
CALGARY TURKISH FESTIVAL
Here is a good opportunity if you want to be a volunteer and have some fun at the same time. Hurry up, positions are limited. Please come 10 minutes earlier then your schedule to do quick introduction about your duties. Here are the available positions and its details. Please fill out the form at the bottom of this page. We will get back to you to confirm your position.

Set-up Team; 10 people
Thursday, July 5, 2012. From 12:00pm - 7:00pm
You have to be at the festival site at 12:00pm on Thursday, July 5, 2012.
Duties will include carrying items, setting up tents, putting up signs, etc. You will be done by 7:00pm. Food will be served on site.
Close-down Team; 15 people
Sunday, July 8, 2012. From 8:00pm - 12:00am
You have to be at the festival site at 8:00pm on Sunday, July 8, 2012.
Food will be served at 8:00pm.
Duties will include carrying items, taking down and packing up tents and signs, cleaning the area, etc. You will be done by 12:00am.
Security Guard; 25 people

Above are the shifts for security guards. Your duties will be to;
1) Observe the site for potential problems.
2) Be cautious about lost children.
3) Inform the Supervisor for any situation.
4) Hand out the information brochure about the festival.

Above are the shifts for kids supervisor. Your duties will be to ensure that kids are playing safely at the kids jumping house. Special attention is needed when kids are getting on to the jump house and when they are sliding down from the side.
First Aid Personnel; 6 people

Above are the shifts for First Aid Personnel. You need to have a First Aid Certificate for this position. You have to be present at the information tent at all times, to ensure that people can find you at the moment they need you. In case there is lost child you will need to follow the procedures. Don't worry we haven't had this situation before. Along with this you will collect the feedback forms from attendees.
Sanitation Personnel; 10 people
You can suggest your own schedule on the form.
There are two choices.
First one is to take care of the Food Courts, including tables, floors and utensils. Basically you will need to provide a healthy working and food serving environment.
Second one is to take care of the public areas. This choice will require to sanitise the tables, picking up the litter, emptying the garbage cans and collecting the recycles frequently.
Photographer & Videographer; 5 people
- You can suggest your own schedule on the form.
-You have to have your own equipment suitable for commercial production.
- You need to have some experience.
Here are the points that you need to pay attention to capture. These pictures and videos will be used for the next years catalogue and advertisements. Please don't forget to leave a copy of your work to information tent before you go.
1. Each of the tents and its activities. Both wide and close up angels.
2. Stage activities. We need both close up shots of group or individual in special moments, and wide angel composition of performers with the audience. Also sometimes the audience will join the dance too.
3. Overall site. We need a landscape view of the festival site with its maximum potential. Around 2pm is the best. YMCA and Sheraton hotel might have a good view.
